Ghana International Airlines (GIA) the new national flag carrier is beginning its scheduled flight to London from the 29th of next month. The daily flight will usher in the services of the new airline after the collapse of the formal carrier Ghana Airways.
The date and fares of the airline are already being advertised on the Internet. Although the date is yet to be formerly announced, officials of GIA say they have almost completed the recruitment exercise and are ready to fly a Boeing aircraft to the Gatwick airport in London.
Confirming the October date to newsmen, the Officer in charge of Governmental and Public Relations, Sam Crabbe said they are starting with a promotional fare of 380 dollars. GIA was expected to resume its West Coast flight last month but that never happened. Asked whether that might not be a repeated, Mr. Crabbe answered in the negative saying that the airline is set this time.
