GNCCI holds 512th meeting

Accra, May 9, GNA - Mr. Stephen Damete-Yeboa, Managing Consultant of Excellence Consultant Service on Wednesday called on Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs (SMEs), to use excel training, a computer programme to enhance and improve efficiency of work in their organisations.

He said the use of excel would help to organise, summarise, interpret data in this age of information Communication technology which would help in the effective management of businesses.

Mr. Damete-Yeboa, who was speaking at the monthly meeting of Accra Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), said excel could save companies about 95 per cent of man hours and high degree of accuracy. The meeting was a forum where companies whose services were beneficial to members were sought to share experiences and also ensure that they were given first hand information on policies of government. Mr. Wilson Atta Krofah, President of GNCCI said the performance of government in helping with the development of the private sector was laudable.

Addressing Africa's Private Sector management capacity development needs, Paul Ayisi, Project manager, African Management Services (AMASCO), said SMEs in Ghana needed to motivate and enhance the skills of personnel to increase productivity.

He said Amsco; an international consortium focused on training staffs on the use and maintenance of foreign machinery and also played emphasis on potential realization.

Mr. Ayisi said AMASCO sought to ensure that SMEs in developing countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Cameroon among others countries found solutions to competitive problems and help prepare the ground for competition on the international market and called on those in industry to access their services which he noted were easily accessible.
