I've not been sacked - GACL MD

The Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Mrs Doreen Owusu Fianko, has dismissed reports that she has been sacked.

Board Chairman, Kuntu Blankson who is also a former Member of Parliament for Mfantseman East Constituency disclosed that Mrs Owusu Fianko has been dismissed by the board.

The reports also indicated that Mrs. Owusu Fianko has been ordered to handover to her deputy by Friday, 13 September 2013.

But in an exclusive interview with XYZ News, Mrs. Fianko stated that she is still at post and is shocked by reports of her dismissal.

According to Mrs. Fianko she has not received any letter from the board indicating that she has been fired from her post. The GACL, under Doreen Fianko last month signed a $100-million commercial agreement with Queiroz Galvao, a Brazilian construction company, for the upgrading and expansion of the Tamale Airport to international standards.

Mrs. Doreen Owusu-Fianko, signed for the company, while the Managing Director of Queiroz Galvao, Mr Marcos Alexandre Silva, initialled for his outfit at a short ceremony in Accra.
