Iranian trade delegation to visit Ghana

Accra, March 29, GNA - A 90-member Iranian Trade delegation would pay a two-day visit to Ghana to explore avenues on trade and investment opportunities with their Ghanaian counterparts. The Iranian Foreign Minister Dr Kamal Kharrazi would lead the delegation. It would include Dr Mohammed Adeli, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, and Mr Khosro Taj, Iranian Deputy Minister of Commerce.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Kodua Edjekumhene, Public Affairs Officer of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and President's Special Initiatives, said the delegation would hold a business forum that would be chaired by Mr Alan Kyerematen, Sector Minister. The statement said they would also receive statements from the Private Sector Development Ministry and the Iranian Ministers. It said there would be presentations from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, the Executive Secretary of the Ghana Export Promotion Council; Director of the Free Zones Board and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana.

A bilateral Trade Agreement between Ghana and Iran would be signed at the Business Forum, the statement said. The delegation would be made up of members of diverse business interest in sectors such as energy, agriculture and food processing, petroleum, dam construction, financial activities, carpet trading; information technology and export/import trading.
