Kpetoe CEPS Academy to become Revenue University

The Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) Academy at Kpetoe in the Volta Region is to be upgraded into a Revenue University for the sub-region.

The Authority has started reviewing requirements for training courses in preparation to admit students from neighbouring countries for training in revenue mobilization.

Mr George Vincent Blankson, Commissioner General of the Ghana Revenue Authourity (GRA) gave the hint at a graduation parade for basic and paramilitary personnel of the Academy on Friday.

He described GRA as among the top performing organizations in the country due to its focus on regular training of staff with plans to improve classrooms and hostel facilities of the Academy to acceptable standards.

“Training makes the difference and we are happy to be transforming raw materials into officers here,” Mr Blankson stated.

He commended the graduates for their smart turnout and expressed the hope that they would take up the future of revenue mobilization in the country seriously.

Mr Blankson asked the new officers to uphold professionalism and show results in higher revenue mobilization.

Seven out of 51 senior cadets who graduated received awards for distinguishing themselves, with the all-round best trainee going to Senior Cadet David Mensah.
