Logiciel Limited holds annual conference

Logiciel Limited, an innovative technology and services company on Friday held its maiden annual conference, aimed at bringing all users of its products together, to suggest and provide feedbacks towards improving the delivery of services.

The conference also provided the platform for the company to brief its clients with regards to operations, as well as features and products they intend to introduce in 2015.

Mr. Derrick Dankyi, Chief Executive Officer of the IT firm, said there was an average of 10 companies signing on each month unto the gKudi platform, which is a revolutionary cloud software that uses IT clouding and mobile technologies to assist financial institutions, government, and cash-based enterprises to increase revenues and reduce costs.

He noted that there were also 462 active companies online in all the 10 regions, 550,000 customer bio-data information, and 70,000 transactions daily as well as 3,750 active users connect daily.

Touching on new features to be introduced onto the platform; Mr. Dankyi said among the new features includes an offline agent browser, new SMS platform, checking of cash in hand before close of business, and also client locator, where companies will be able to track their agents, adding that all these were geared towards addressing the concerns of their clients.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he said the gKudi software is being produced by Logiciel, which does all banking operations however the company was focusing on microfinance for the first two years.

He explained that the software which is hosted online could be used by savings and loans, credit unions, rural banks, among others.

The CEO told GNA that the company which was established two years ago currently has 162 clients adding that “going forward we hope to introduce more interesting features into the platform, go into the savings and loans market and introduce more models such as money transfer that will help the micro industry”.

He emphasized that among the challenges being encountered as a company was with internet connectivity as well as the loss in faith of the Ghanaian software industry.

The CEO explained that people have used the locally produced softwares and had failed to address their needs; hence they prefer patronizing softwares made in India and elsewhere.

He, therefore, stated that gKudi has the support team in Ghana, and it has been designed with all the models to make it work and urged all companies to come on board.

Mr. Derrick Appiah, Board Chairman of the Logiciel Limited, said there were about 600 microfinance firms, and about 200 of these companies were using the platform, covering 1.5 million transactions within a month.

Logiciel is an innovative technology and services company that delivers core banking, mobile banking, and cash mobilization platforms in Africa through IT clouding and mobile technologies, and has products such as gKudi Clouded Microfinance, gKudi SMS alert system, gKudi mobile and gKudi internet banking.
