MTN Ghana, as part of the activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Mobile Money (MoMo) promo, has awarded the first batch of its loyal MoMo customers.
The promo, which would span a period of three months from June to August is expected to reward about 1000 customers with 10 Hyundai i10 cars, smart television sets, and cash prizes.
The promo rewarded customers from across the country in the first batch.
In the Greater Accra Region, about 15 customers were rewarded with smart Tvs ranging from 43 inches to 65 inches, 12 people were rewarded with cash prizes from GHS1000.00 to GHS3000.00 while Mrs Rebecca Quaye, a 70-year old woman emerged the overall winner of the first Hyundai i10 salon car.
Mr Eli Hini, the General Manager of Mobile Financial Services, MTN Ghana said the MTN MoMo platform had operated in Ghana for 10 years and therefore launched the promo to encourage customers to perform their own transactions.
He explained that customers did not need to pay any amount to participate in the contest, however, they only needed to do a lot of transactions with the MoMo to win.
Among the objectives of MTN with regard to the introduction of MoMo, he said, was to promote a cashless economy.
He commended the company’s partners for helping them to achieve their target of providing good customer service through innovative ways.
Mr Hini advised MoMo users not to disclose their wallet’s pins to a second party, saying accounts to be hacked only if a hacker had gotten the pin to one’s account.
He congratulated the winners and encouraged them as well as other customers to keep using the MoMo to enjoy the benefits that were attached to them.
Customers were urged to check their points by dialing *120# or *170#.
Madam Quaye, the ultimate award winner who operates a provision shop thanked MTN for the award and advised other customers to register and use the MoMo services to win better awards.
