Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Running Mate to the NDC Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has assured fishers that the next NDC government will ensure constant and equitable distribution of premix fuel to them.

According to her, the National Democratic Congress government would see the removal of all the bottlenecks in the sharing and acquisition of the premix fuel.

Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang was addressing fishers at Axim in the Nzema-East Municipality.

It formed part of a three-day phase two of her campaign tour of the Western Region.

She observed that the supply of premix fuel to fishers was fraught with political colours according to complaints received from some of the fishers.

As a result, some of the fishers were denied the premix fuel needed for their fishing expeditions.

The situation, the NDC running mate noted, had crippled businesses along the coastal areas bringing untold hardships and sufferings to them.

She described the situation as a potential threat to the livelihoods and very survival of some of the fishers and their dependents as well as all in the fishing value chain.

Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang said the NDC would do away with all the bottlenecks in the supply of premix fuel to all fishers.

She reminded the people to retain the NDC Parliamentary Candidate in power.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Evaloe-Adjomoro Gwira, Kofi Arko Nokoe appealed to the people to return the NDC to power to continue their work.

He said the, "Fishing industry was critical to the livelihoods of all Ghanaians and should not be clothed with party colours."
