Ghana?s National Communication Authority (NCA), has given operators until the end of September to implement registration of pre-paid SIM cards. The new rules call for identification of pre-paid buyers in what the NTC says is a necessary security measure. Under the new rules, those buying a pre-paid GSM or CDMA handset must provide their name, home address, and other hone number as well as prove their identity to the retailer.
