(Chronicle) -- Any foreign company that brings money to invest in Ghana, should pass the money though the Bank of Ghana or these days, any of the prime banks, but register it through the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre. As part of its concluded investigations into the extent of tax evasion committed by Areeba, the Serious Fraud Office peppered the Bank of Ghana and obtained the following admissions;

The net effect of their letter is that only $210,050.00 is the sum of money they imported into the country as foreign equity contribution in the joint business of Sacncom (now Areeba, lately MTN).

What about the billions of dollars people assume they brought into the country?

They made it here and laundered the rest out of the country in suitcases! They contributed to the collapse of the cedi because great sums of money were taken out through the black market, and on to banks in Lebanon and other European capitals.

Ghanaians ended up being suckers every time they bought a snap card and said hello, Everywhere you go!
