A Tema based businessman, Mr Moses Angmor Djorbua, has called on the youth to seek mentoring from established entrepreneurs to guide their aspirations to reality.

According to him, the experience and lessons of those who have grown businesses from scratch were critical to the survival of start-ups and even those who were contemplating any form of entrepreneurship.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Tema, he said most Ghanaian youths have business ideas but were under the illusion that a lot of money was always needed to realise such aspirations.

He said with the right advice and guidance, they would soon realise that when the right decisions are made, everything would fall into place.

“I know a rich man in town who had to constantly visit the office of a factory manager for a job. One day, he decided to wash the car of the man. When the man saw him washing his car, he invited for an interview and soon he was working in the factory. He did not have any school certificate but he learnt so fast that he later become a distributor and eventually a successful businessman.”

According to him, it took humility and fortitude to overcome the initial obstacles of life where valuable experience was gathered and analysed for future adding that every hour of business life offers lessons which should never be taken for granted.

Mr Djorbua appealed to established entrepreneurs to help those who approach them for mentorship adding that it was their responsibility to help grow small businesses.

Our national development depends on the growth of small businesses and the realisation of business ideas which would eventually keep the youth busy, employ others and pour more taxes into the public purse.
