Servant leadership at opportunity international savings and loans (OISL)
....As the Company celebrates ten years in Ghana.
November 1, 2013 – Opportunity International Savings and Loans Ghana Limited (OISL) has announced plans to celebrate its 10th Anniversary in Ghana with a series of activities aimed at cementing its role as a Company that provides an opportunity for all. OISL’s 10th anniversary is a symbolic milestone that will be celebrated throughout the anniversary year of September 2013 -September 2014.
To kick-start the celebrations, a Servant Leadership program has been held at all 32 branches of the company where senior Management came to the front-line to serve its clients. The CEO, Kwame Owusu – Boateng, who started the day as a Customer Service Officer, re-affirmed the Company’s commitment to creating value for its clients. “Our strategy remains untouched; to always deliver superior value, serve and create opportunities for our clients, which will put us on course to become the leading Savings and Loans Company in Ghana”.
Emphasising the role of OISL in Ghana’s micro finance industry since its establishment in September 2004, the CEO highlighted some of the Company’s achievements which include the establishment of 32 Branches in 6 Regions, 4 mobile vans, 14 Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), 4 Community Banking Centres with a total deposit of 57.3 million and a loan portfolio of 66.9 million to the micro business sector. It is currently serving about 334,261 deposit clients and 70,070 loan clients as at the end of October 2013.
Activities outlined for the year-long celebration include a Clients Appreciation week, a Keep-Fit festival, financial literacy week, a Micro Finance Week, a deposit mobilisation week, SME clinics and an Anniversary dinner.
