It is reported that American businessmen regard Ghana as a major hub for the West African region and are very interested in trade and investment there.

The fact that the relationship between them is, reportedly, very good is regarded as a major plus factor when considering trade and investment in the region. Thus there are already plans afoot to hold a major, weeklong US/Ghana trade and investment programme in Accra in September, 2002 called AMERICA & GHANA – partners in development.

The programme will, according to the report, include an international trade and investment exhibition as well as a high level, two-day conference for companies wishing to do business in Ghana and elsewhere in West Africa and business, sporting and cultural activities.

It is planned to be a major showcase for the latest products, technologies and business opportunities and is scheduled to be held in the Trade Fair Centre in Accra.
