Utilise BAC services - Head advises small-scale entrepreneurs

Kumasi, June 25, GNA - Miss Beatrice B. Boakye, Head of the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) of the National Board for Small-Scale Industries (NBSSI), has advised small-scale entrepreneurs to utilise the services of BAC for the growth of their enterprises. She said BAC was always ready to welcome the efforts of the small-scale entrepreneurs to improve upon their businesses.

Miss Boakye gave the advice at the close of a three-day management seminar for 14 members of the Ghana Traditional Healers Association in Kumasi on Thursday.

It was organised by BAC with the objective of assisting the participants to improve upon their entrepreneurial and managerial skills to enhance the profitability of their businesses and to ensure growth. They were taken through topics such as Business Growth and Survival, Strategies, Assessing Entrepreneurial Skills in Business, Management in Small Enterprises, Basic Record Keeping, Sources of Support, Customer Relations and Safety Practices in Traditional Medicine. She said it was the objective of BAC to encourage small-scale entrepreneurs to continuously minimise risk in investments by seeking information from the appropriate quarters.

Miss Boakye therefore, challenged the participants to practise basic record keeping and management skills that will help them take good decisions.

Mr B. D. Bonsu, proprietor of 'Sankofa' Herbal Clinic at Ahinsan in Kumasi, called for the early establishment of the Herbal Council to help push the country's herbal medicine forward. He said the country's herbal medicine was in great demand both locally and outside the country and that the establishment of the Council will therefore, accelerate the recognition of the country's herbal medicine internationally.
