A financial analyst, Kudjoe Akpabey has asked the government to put in place measures to prevent people from diverting state monies into their accounts. He said government can earn more revenue internally if all loopholes in the internal revenue sources are blocked. Mr. Kudjoe Akpabey was speaking on Suncity Morning Show programme on the increment in Value Added Tax (VAT) rate by the government.

Mr. Kudjoe Akpabey was speaking on Suncity Morning Show programme on the increment in Value Added Tax (VAT) rate by the government. He was of the view that another means of generating income internally is by widening the tax net for more people to contribute into the natural chest. He was of the view that the recent increases in the Value Added tax will not help the government since it will increase prices of essential consumables and add more hardships to the already impoverished Ghanaian.
