    Togbe said it. When domestic interest rates are high, as in Ghana and Nigeria, the local currency will depreciate to maintain parity. Common sense!! But the PhDs don’t get it.

    What happened to the "Gold-for-Oil" policy? I thought they (Bawumia, Akuffo Addo, etc.) said the gold for oil has released pressure on foreign exchange reserves. Why the cedi's continued volatility?

    Economic Lesson For KG 2. When a country has to keep borrowing money to pay wages, bills etc and produces next to nothing, toilet paper has more value than its currency.
