This is not ABSOLUTELY NONSENSE. It is rather ABSOLUTELY SENSIBLE not to over tax our domestic "coins" income and leaving the higher overseas million dollar earners not to pay. Globally, tax declaration is done both at the income source and destination countries. As we speak, several people hide behind the Ghanaian loose-end tax laws to default such obligations, leaving just a few domestic people to carry the tax burden. For instance, Ghanaians working in Togo, Ivory Coast, UK, US, etc., must prove that they have already paid their taxes over there to offset double incidence of taxation. Besides, online businesses, marketing including social media plus YouTube million dollar earnings must equally be taxed as it is done elsewhere in the world. These people use more of our public facilities built with our taxes compared with a poor teacher in a remote inaccessible village with no Internet connectivity. To hell should they be left to live opulent lifestyle at our expense

These stuff regarding income fall under double taxation agreements. IE where the resident person is both liable to tax in Ghana and overseas the rules under oced or the relevant treaties boarders on length of residency, ties etc...the person doesn't pay tax twice so in the end one of the jurisdiction will assess the tax on the income. For the majority the overseas jurisdiction get the hand because the residents in such a situation stay longer in overseas than in Ghana. So the point is the overseas tax authorities have outsmart the Ghana tax authorities to come into agreement to share data on residence but the benefits of such sharing of data lies with the overseas tax authorities and less of Ghana. In the end you sell your pple so income overseas and those they own in Ghana will all be taxed towards overseas and not taxed towards Ghana. The rule doesn't not benefit Ghana but overseas..it's a way by which they seem money out of African from the travelled resident to abroad. Imagine I live in UK and have inherited lands and farms in Ghana. By you exposing me through data share I have to pay taxes on those farms and lands income to the overseas tax because I live there more than live in Ghana under the rules. What Ghana have to concentrate on is finding owners of of lands and properties in Ghana and tax them high for those who earn more or have more and tax less on the ordinary..build your local compliance tax and do run into any stupid agreement with foreign bodies because in the end they will squeeze Ghana resources back into Thier country over such agreements as double taxation which works in Thier favour. You are only making them rich at the blind side..it's slavery in disguise and stealing of Ghana wealth. Ask yourself why is it that not every country agrees to such agreements and treaties...you only have to do if you build your local compliance and your pple are staying more in Ghana than abroad..that way the rules will be in your favour to tax those incomes they have abroad bcos they live more in ghana and have more ties in Ghana.
