  Who ever made this report is our of touch with reality, look the greatest cause of our useless Ghana cedis falling is the government depending on outside contractors to work for the government like roads , building etc . When they are done working will they take this useless cedis to their country? No they will buy dollars! And we are talking about billions of dollars chasing the few dollars on the market , so it gets to a situation that since you need dollars so badly you will pay anything to have them . It is an old trick by money exchangers . Secondly you see Nigerians etc on our local markets selling poor quality products without paying taxes to the government,after they sell their products do you think they want your cedis or to take dollars back to Nigeria in their pants ? Nigerians will rather carry the money his country in his pants than to pay transfer taxes to Ghana government. Alas we have useless men running the country so they do not know . I tell you a tomato market queen can control dollar rate than our financial minster. Sack all the black market around the borders ,the airport etc. Arrest all bank managers that provide them with the dollars to sell on the local market for a profit !

  I'm surprised that the writer of this article didn't add corruption and hording of dollars in people's houses. Since 1999, the depreciation of the cedi becomes worse in the 2nd term of every government. The perception is that moneys gotten through corruption are not kept at banks. The corrupt politicians always buy dollars and keep in their homes, so that in case they lose the election they can continue to live their luxurious lifestyles. I pray God Almighty will bring curses on such politicians and also make the Dollar worthless in Jesus' Name. Amen!
