Ghanaians cannot afford to buy common commodities like pepper, onion and tomatoes due to poor leadership.
We have seasons when these crops are in abundance and some are left to rot because the farmers are left with a surplus of these goods which end up being thrown away or left to rot. Why can’t the government build preservation silos where all these unsold produce are bought by the government , preserved and sold to the people during the lean or dry season. Why do advance countries with their huge population have these products all year round? They preserve these produce and bring it to the market in times of need . Irrigation will help but how many farmers will have access to it .
