Prof. this class has always existed since pre and post colonial periods, the wealthy farmers, local chiefs and the merchants class. Infact the former Prez. Rawlings described their hawkish nature which can sometimes be taken to the extreme by snatching peoples meals between the plate and the mouth(jokes) But after independence a new ballgame was set in place, my feelings towards our institutions of higher learning is mixed mainly because they have failed to instill into their pupils the idea of the social contract that bound them to their people back in the villages and towns, so these students became unhinged after graduation, fast forward today the problem is how to hold them acc
