Normal show is this is not political gimmick. Show us how many international passengers have Kumasi as their destination. NPP and stupidity.
Small mind - l believe you don't know Kumasi and the Asanteman either.
He thinks it is only those in the Ashanti region who choose Kumasi as their destination
Chattered for secretly registered voters in the UK.
@Kwabena, Yaanom, the haters of Asanteman and Asantefo are profusely bleeding and seriously having sleepless nights. Can’t you see?
@New Order:

The airport is for planes to land and takeoff. What is the big deal
Did the plane take off with passengers back to Gatwick the same day? NO!
That is not how Ethiopia Airlines does business and that is why I think those who say this was a chartered flight have a point.
How many passengers were on the flight? Was there any feasibility study to show the trip is viable? Any cost/benefit analysis carried out? When the trip was rescheduled b'cos of short notice means, no proper planning went it ...

The Ethiopian airline plane that laned at Kumasi Airport was a Boeing 737 860.
Here are the facts: "A fully loaded 737 requires around 2000m of runway to come to a safe stop after touchdown at around 140 knots"
KUMASI AIRP ...

So what is your point? You don't even seem to understand why you typed what you typed.
What interests me is will this be a regular service and will it be commercially viable. Some of us are not impressed by cheap gimmicks
I believe Ethiopian Airlines would use Kumasi as a transit stop en route to Accra. Eventually, all airlines heading to Ghana may stop in Kumasi before flying to Accra, and vice versa.I don't think a direct trip to Kumasi will ...

As already stated above, landing conditions at Kumasi Airport is far from ideal and could be very hazardous if the plane is fully loaded (implying a need for a longer runway for it to safely land) Put bluntly the runway at Ku ...

The runway at Kumasi airport is approx. 2.4 Km long. You can check this from wikipedia so I don't really know what you mean by "far from ideal" landing conditions.
Look up runway requirements for 737 fully loaded.
I dont think you bothered to read my previous comment.I clearly stated that the runway is "approx. 2.4 km long. You can convert that to feet and see how it measures up with your previous statement.
6540 feet = 1993metres(1.9 KM)
8000 feet =2438 metres(2.43 KM)
The Kumasi runway is 2.3 km
It is more than adequate for landing and take off for Boeing 737-200 to 737-800 in most conditions i.e dry,wet ,full or empty.

Good news
Jokers
Make the airport big so other flights can land successfully. Why can't our leaders use their brains. Take more space and make the runaway big enough so others can land successfully.
Ghanaians are very much aware of this deceitful arrangement to hoodwink the people.
What a pity!!! This deliberate ploy by the NPP to win the elections didn't work..
