The West have lost their puppet gov’t, the NPP, and are very worried with President Mahama’s foreign policy approach. They want to start a ‘war’ with Ghana; an economic war for that matter. They will not stop until they achieve their aim of subduing the new Ghana Government. What has Mahama got to do with Zipline and all the other dubious initiatives of Dr. Bawumia and Nana Addo? Why didn’t the USA expressed their concerns when the NPP who signed the Zipline contracts were in power? Why have they allowed other IMF funds to go through but are trying to sabotage this particular one? The answer is simple: they want to tame Pres. Mahama and the NDC because they can’t afford to lose their influence in Ghana. They won’t allow Mahama to have a rapport with Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso. The West is hurting that GHANA, a major ECOWAS superpower, has legitimized the junta government of Burkina Faso. If the WEST(USA) allows this momentum to build up that could dealt a fatal blow to the West’s influence in West Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa as a whole.

But if I were to be Pres. Mahama, this is the time to say “ I don’t care”. It is the time to change foreign policy. This threat from the USA regarding their companies operating in Ghana under debt could be a game changer for Ghana to tow the lane of Burkina and the other Sahel Countries. Burkina seems to be doing just fine against all odds. We need to take a leaf or two from their handouts and form a formidable alliance that would ensure that Ghana survives any crises that may stem from sanctions. This is the only way forward for Ghana to achieve economic independence. We Shall Overcome!!!

Doing otherwise is always a risk to the company itself and should normally be insured against such risks u der company policies. So these old western tactics of bullying African countries is dead! Mr senator of the « greatest country » in the world, needs to update himself.
