  Tourism would double overnight if Ghana abandoned visas for Europeans and North Americans, as Morocco has done. Ghana has approximately one million tourists every year, Morocco has 14 million (!). You might think av visa for 90 USD would not make a bid dent in a European holiday budget, but the procedure connected to it, with six documents having to be presented, and the passport even in original, puts off the majority of prospective travellers.
  
  Another country which does not require visas from Europeans and North Americans is Chile. Chile has about 4 million tourists each year.
  
  Another big advantage is that the state could close the Ghana Immigration Service, wich does absolutely nothing productive whatsoever. Border security it the natuarl job of the army, checking papers can be done by the police, as in many other countries.
