If Akonta Mining under Wontumi have undertaken illegal mining activities in a forest reserve without any license, Wontumi must be prosecuted and jailed. A forest reserve is the property of the state and any body encroaching on it without permission must be charged with theft and destruction of public property. The government must send a message to Ghanaians loud and clear that such encroachment on our forest reserves will be met with consequences.
