Nigerians are powering their own indigenous banks globally. Nane tgem Access, Zenith, FCMB, GT Bank can be found in most global hibs from London, Frankfurt Amsterdam, Johanbesburg, New York etc. These are powered by local indigenious Nigerians.

Meanwhile Ghanaians powering our lical Banks have left us withGN Nduom, UT Amoabeng and others like Ato Foson powering his Capital Bank inside Nsawam Prison.

So Mr. Bernard Mensah why dont you taje one of our lical Banks and do with it what these 40 - 50yr old Nigerians have done wirh their local Nigerian owned banks so we can celebrate you.

Because honestly there is more value in celebrating you if your efforts is havibg a direct impact on our society lime the Nigerians are doing in their country than it benefitting the whiteman of which i derive no benefit.

In any case more grease ti your elbows and personal achievements but also think about our local banks small.

Ghana Commercial Bank since independence has had only one branch in London. Look at the Nigerian Banks established less than 30yrs ago, Access, GT, Zenith etc. They niw dominate the Ghanaian, West African and one of the dominant African Banks globally.

What did we get. Nduom, Amoabeng and NAM1. Nigerians has made the best of the worst they have and their banking sector is flying as one of the best in Africa to the extent that a private sector company in Nigeria cab easily syndicate $1b from the Nigerian financial market.

You hardly hear of Nigerians making waves in CITIBANK in New York, NATWEST in UK or DEUTSCBANK in Germany. They are all making waves with expansion from their Headquarters in Ikoyi Island , Lagos.

No wonder it is projected that by 2050 it will be the 5th biggest economy in the world. Ghanaian financial institutions and bankers have a lot to learn from Nigerians that when you are given bitter lemon, with hardwork and perseverance you can still make lemonade out of it!
