Ato Forson campaigned that Akuffo Addo was stealing from farmers. According to Ato Forson, a bag of cocoa, at the time he was campaigning was GHc 9000.00. Government was supposed to take GHc 3000.00 and give GHc 6000.00 to farmers. But the opposite was the case. We as farmers demand nothing but two-thirds of the current price of cocoa. NDC should stop thinking that farmers would be sympathetic and accept any peanut of an increase. Governance is not for the faint hearted.

Well, as the government is celebrating the appreciation of the cedi, we shouldn't forget that the current purchasing price of cocoa was set with the previous rate of the dollar. Now comes the reality check, you have promised farmers price increase (in cedis) at the same time you export your cocoa for dollars. So where are you going to get money to astronomically increase prices for farmers with this sharp appreciation of the cedi? I don't want to believe that this cry of debt is to prepare the minds of Ghanaian Cocoa farmers when they eventually come out to tell us that what the can at best do is to keep cocoa price at the prevailing rate.

The shouldn't complain to us, they should show us their solutions with verifiable results. The fault finding are becoming too many.
