It's was clear when John Dramani said he was going to meet with the BoG governor to peg Ghc 10 cedis to a dollar. That's settings,and that's isn't how to manage currency appreciation. They can only impress people who get excited by 'Settings'; those who take movie scenes for reality. But when the act is over and you see 'Jack' and 'Killer' taking coffee together, you will understand what's going on. Emotions don't change the truth!

The only difference is that our Bog governor and Finance have added the African economics which the IMF does not get. Come August, there will be bumper harvest and food prices will fall. In September the tourist will come and pump more dollars into the system. The dollar will continue to fall as well as food prices. So the IMF is lacking the effie economics the govt is embarking on. Please, this is not premature. So far as the gold has a value and price, the Cedi will be okay and thrive. If it had not been for exports, I believe we could have brought the dollar down to 8 cedis. IMF WANTS NOTHING GOOD FOR GHANA NOR AFRICA. They wish by now $1 = 20 cedis. Look, our problem in Africa has been poor leadership and mismanagement. Market forces? Does Professor Boadi understands the concept of “markets “??? Or he is living on planet Mars? In the short term to correct the structural issues of import dependency to local production and manufacturing, local entrepreneurs need cheaper external imports to jumpstart that strategy!! IMF mandate is to keep us in import dependency as consumers of developed nations labor - ie, goods and services., mono cultural commodities producers and exporters of what we don’t consume to service other nations economies.- resulting in huge Debts!!! How long has IMF been around?? They advised Rawlings to sell Nkrumah’s factories. We did and despite cocoa, oil , Gold and other mineral exports we are in DEBT!!! Our only way out is local production and manufacturing. We should produce most of what we consume.
The Asians have done it and has removed the knee of IMF on their necks.? Mahama and BoG are doing great with the Cedi artificial rate, they need to encourage local entrepreneurs to start taking advantage , set up local businesses and produce goods locally and limit most imports, especially food. When the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama talked about the possible impact of the Israel-Iran conflict on oil price and the Ghanaian economy as a whole, he was alluding to the fact that despite the efforts we may put in, our economy also depends on some external factors. The President’s inauguration of GoldBod task force following GhanaWeb's exclusive 'Gold Market' exposé also tells us that corruption is not yet over. The IMF is advising us on how we are stabilizing the cedi, and this emphasizes the fact that we are not yet there with the seemingly stabilized cedi.

Let us remember that WE CAN NOT GET THERE with arrogance, discriminately prosecution, breaking alliance with US and the West and possibly aliening with China and Russia, and discontinuation and mocking of The National Cathedral Project.

Most of our goods are being imported from different countries with dollars while the average man is not ending enough to buy all this goods this lead to some of the things order from China quality is not great.The MIF should rather help the poorest countries currencies to be stable rather than saying high interest rate to go higher. Compared to Europe where average salary is better than our continents interest rates are better when applied for a loan. Interest rates is making the citizen struggle to pay because there is not much profit and the instress rate is taking all tge profit for the citizen.
