  Doesn't GOLDBOD pay miners (licensed or unlicensed) in Ghana cedis? So if the cedi is stronger, doesn't that make the old price GHS8,868 more valuable for the miners? Some of them will change their cedis into dollars and will be getting more for every cedi because of the strong exchange rate, abi.
  So what is all this about motivating miners with more cedis BECAUSE of the stronger cedi? Sammy Gyamfi should just say he wants the miners to produce more because he needs more money to pump into government coffers.
  The GHS832 per pound of gold (not ounce) is just propaganda. Or a bribe to miners from a government desperate for cash.

  I’m just surprised how the strengthening of the cedi has become a bone of contention for those who are bent on milking Mama Ghana. Yesterday, the folks at the Ghana Ports were complaining about reduction in revenue due to the cedi’s appreciation. So it appears the crooks would be singing hosssna and hallelujah if the exchange rate jumps to $1=100Ghs. Or becomes like Nigeria’s Naira. What a jungle country we were born or live in.
