  All this strict policies and rules will only further hurt the economy.
  Imagine if you had kept the rate around 15 cedis like it was in February, the economy would have been in a better condition. You would have had enough forex reserves to stabilize the rate at 15, instead of dragging it down to 10 cedis, and now it’s 11.42.
  Stability is always better than volatility when it comes to the exchange rate, and this government has failed drastically.

  But it has made us wiser. Most of the $6.65 billion remittances are for construction and building projects, but they claim they are for family upkeep. Na lie. It is what is keeping Bank of Ghana in business. The only way they get free dollars, and just print free papers into Cedis for beneficiaries. The other option is selling gold, cocoa, etc or as expensive loans with high interest rates from IMF, China, etc. There are no interest on remittances.

It is what is keeping Bank of Ghana in business. The only way they get free dollars, and just print free papers into Cedis for beneficiaries.
