I hope our universities will launch their initiative to feed themselves. Stakeholders must learn from General Kutu Acheampog's Operation Feed Yourself Policy. This initiative must not fail.

Dr.Busia met school farming.we had school farming at the elementary level.i went through the 10 year elementary education so I entered secondary school in 1979,we had school farming in secondary school long before then.we had tractor for farming purpose.This was part of Nkrumahs farm brigade policy.Mahama and Otukonor have you asked yourselves why it died out and why didn't it achieved all the rhetoric and the garage you are spewing out.it is another avenue to chop money,Mark my word.

Always throwing dust into our eyes. It's no secret that the loans conditionalities from the IMF and World Bank is not allowing us to go into sustainable agric. We are not supposed to grow food but to keep importing their poison. The Feed Ghana has become a scam!!! Always launching!!

Why haven't we seen large farms across the country for so many years? From Rawlings through to Akuffo Addo and Mahama there has been no agric policy. WHY?? World Bank and IMF instructions??

What for? We need to encourage people to go into large scale agricultural production using modern technology in order to create job avenues instead of fostering subsistence farming which we have done over the years.

Another hopeless and unthoughtful initiative. We have seen this before since General Acheapong's time with the "operation feed yourself" initiative. Has Ghana become self sufficient in food production since then? The answer is a big no. What we need is the establishment of an agricultural university (preferably in a rural setting such as Kpedze where the President is going to launch the initiative) to train graduates in modern mechanized farming. These graduates should be given loans to purchase agricultural machineries and other equipment for large scale farming. Anything short of this is just mere fanfare which will take us no where as a nation.
