  The negotiators should DEMAND 30% royalty and 21% of EBITDA- Earnings Before Interest ,Taxes, Depreciation ,and Amortization for Pan African's jewel in the crown.
  So
  The Parliament shouldn't buy that 12% royalty... it's a head fake.
  The spot price of spodumene hasn't reached $6,000 since the heady days of 2022.
  Currently it's trading at $1,429 USD/mt.....where sadly the 5% royalty is pegged and would be for as long as such private entities control the market-- both forward and futures.
  And,
  What about the added value...the refinery ?
  Another variable..
  The negotiators got to be bold and hang tough for these voracious corporatists would kill their mamas for a ROI which is just half a basis point over and above a risk free investment like the treasury.

  Here's my pique...strategically speaking.
  Why should an entity----the government....with as asset- lithium- won't have a projected value of that asset, say for the next thirty(30) years, have it monetized and leveraged it for financing to mine the lithium and have it refined in Ghana.....
  
  Look it..
  
  This is what this private company is doing.
  As soon as this legislation pass the Parliament....it has an asset...and it's projected long term valuation as a basis to raise zillions of dollars from VC to extract the lithium .
  Fundamentally....it is already happening ...just the anticipation of the passage of the legislation has seen the stock price of Atlantic Lithium jump over 30% on the Ghana Stock Exchange,
  
  The government of Ghana ...like China... can do the same.
  All it has to do is label such resources "Strategic mineral resources" and set up a Committee on Foreign Investment in Ghana (CFIG) to review any foreign investment in Ghana : other jurisdictions do it, why not Ghana or The Continent?

  Why the rush? Can't we get equipment and personnel to mine the lithium? Where are the mining and geodetic engineers doing in Ghana? Let us leave it underground for future generations to mine. If all the stolen monies reported in the AG's report are collected, can't we get the equipment to mine locally instead of the lazy approach of leasing? For once can't we own a local mining company? Ghanaians owned. The technologies for mining lithium abound in the Internet and our mining engineers (Bsc, Msc, Dr and professors) sitting down doing nothing. A failed nation.
