  Are we practicing socialism or benevolent communism here??? If you're concerned about the small companies' capacity to compete, then create a buffer policy to support threshold competitiveness in the event that the event you describe occurs. That would make more sense than holding the whole industry and consumers to ransom because the small holder cannot effectively provide a service at the going market rate.
  
  It is trite that fuel prices pretty much control the ebb and flow of our economy and the cheaper it is, the better for everyone. Why on earth would anyone justify and indeed impose artificial impediments to affordable access for the benefit of a miniscule minority????

  The term "predatory pricing" is a misnomer and makes absolutely zero sense if OMCs can afford to provide their services at increasingly lower costs to the consumer. That is called a win-win and introduces equilibrium to the larger economy.
  If an OMC is incapable of operating profitably in the above scenario while its peers are, then it is in the wrong business.
  
  "Predatory Pricing" would more appropriately refer to OMCs who would take advantage of their sheer market share muscle to unilaterally impose cutthroat prices on consumers. This clearly is the very opposite of the scenario regarding Star Oil.
  
  Then again it would be counter-intuitive for any OMC to engage in cutthroat pricing because of a perceived market share advantage or a lack of it, knowing full well that in a deregulated environment, the consumer has a plethora of acceptable options on offer.
  
  In this industry the lowest ex-pump is KING!!!
  
  So WHAT EXACTLY is the IEA saying????
