Kay, the fact is BOG is not being truthful to the public. The price of gold is predicted to even get to the usd8,000 mark by J P Morgan Bank. Why sell such an asset which is appreciating for forex for which you will make foreign exchange losses because the probability of the cedi depreciating is higher than the price of gold reducing. This decision by the BOG is senseless. There must be another reason which we are not being told!!!!!!

Close scrutiny of the Governor’s statements shows a deliberate effort to not state the real reason for reduction of the gold reserves, which implies a sale, and for what purpose when gold is rallying on geopolitical concerns which will not stop soon. The sale maybe legitimate to cover losses or to support their balance sheet, which must be stated, but such a rapid, 50% reduction raises concerns.
