It saddens my heart that we still lack visionary and strategic thinking people running affairs There are so many questions to ask about the functioning and success of our state-run institutions. The Ghana Water Corporation Limited, Electricity Corporation etc are all total failures; mismanagement, fraud, corruption are pervasive. The idea of bringing in a national airline is an introduction of flying coffins and a national disgrace.

A national airline is not necessary. Private airlines operate the profitable connections. To the degree that they don't, the government will have to subsidise them. Should the poor Ghanean worker subsidise the rich so they can fly out to Dubai and Lisbon?

Government cannot effectively run businesses. What happened to the hundreds of SOE’s started by Osagyefo? The corruption, dishonesty is too much and would run it into bankruptcy in no time. Government officials, employees and their families would be riding while ticket holders are put on standby. That’s how Ghana airways lost out. Government-private partnerships works much better. Allow a private management company to run it , just like we have one running our airports
