How can a government buy a crop at $6,300 a tonne from the Cocoa farmer whilst the same crop is sold on the world market today at $4,000 a tonne( Ghs43,600) or Ghs2,180/per 50kg. So If government is paying farmers Ghs2,567 per 50kg, then it means government is losing Ghs387 per 50kg. Is this why CDM is wating digital space? It can only take an honest John Mahama to do this.

This morning I woke up to check world market price of cocoa. To my shock it has dropped to $3,700 per a metric ton (16 bags) . My calculator gave me $231.25 a bag. Using the exchange rate at Abokyi 's Ghc 11.00 , I got Ghc 2,543.75 per bag. Then I compared it to what was announced by the finance minister and cocoboard . The government has been more than fair by giving all to the cocoa farmer without any deduction or percentage compared to when prices reached $11,000 per tonn and farmers were given Ghc 3,000.00.
