Some parts of Accra and Ashanti to experience power outages
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned power outage in parts of Tema to allow for maintenance works aimed at improving service delivery.
According to a notice issued by ECG, the maintenance exercise will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The company stated that the exercise will lead to a temporary interruption in electricity supply in McKeon, Sky Quarries, Westrafo, and surrounding areas.
Here are the areas that will be affected by ECG's planned maintenance from March 1–5
On the same day, other parts of Accra West will experience power outages affecting areas such as Borkorbokor, Ablekuma Curve, Mariakrom, and nearby communities. The power in these areas is expected to go off from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on March 8.
Additionally, some parts of the Ashanti Region will experience power interruptions along Anloga Sobolo, Sisakyi, Anloga New Road, Oforikrom Police Station, Poku Transport, Peprah Sawmill, Akosuaku, and surrounding areas.
ECG explained that the planned maintenance is part of efforts to enhance the reliability of power supply in the affected communities. The company also expressed regret for the inconvenience the temporary outage may cause to residents and businesses.
