  It is astonishing that the controllers of our banking industry still think that the double-digit interest rates are helpful to anybody.. They don't see that the high NON-PERFORMING PORTFOLIO is a direct result of the excessively high cost of finance. In other places the system encourages businesses through low cost of finance. In Ghana, income levels are low for the majority of the people. Two important things which we should do: 1st. Increase the Basic Wage by a huge margin. 2nd. lower the lending rate.. We will see dramatic improvements in the standard of life in Ghana.
