I support the takeover of the mine by Ibrahim. It's always been my position that our resources must be extracted by indigenes and not expatriates who repatriate about 90% of their earnings back to their home countries.

It's good the president reused himself regarding the transfer or sales of Damang Mine to E&P. But my question is, who appointed all the cabinet ministers who sat on the Damang transfer issue? Windmill or no windmill, life may be the same or the end decision may be same.

The deal is completed. The mining company is transferred to E&P, a company owes by the president's brother. Whether the president directly or indirectly influenced the sale or not is the issue now. E&P is owed by a Ghanaian. We've to encourage Ghanaian ownership to get control of our natural resources. Did Ghana get value for money deal with the transaction or it was handed over to E&P on a silver platter? These're some of the relevant questions we should ask. Expects with knowledge about mining acquisition may be able to address these questions properly.

What's the essence of this statement by Hon. Ofosu Kwakye? It may not come out of the blues, but what's the motive behind it? Is it to counter the past statements made by NDC members including the president himsekf against his predecessor administration for doing business with family members? I think this statement by Hon. Ofosu Kwakye is unnecessary; it will not change any opinion about this transfer. Let's move on, and advice politicians to be consistent with their ultrances or reflame from making statements that will serve as point of references against them in the future.
