  It is disgraceful to note that we still depend on the white man to exploite our extractive minerals. If at this day and age, the country and its citizens cannot fully control our natural resources to derive its full benefits, then there's no need to talk about higher education in Ghana. Everything about education must be abolished.
  
  We must be a country of jokers! Let's be serious for once. Just take a look at the Gulf States, the only thing they have is oil. Because they took the bold decision to nationalise same, they're so rich that, their citizens don't travel to any country for menial jobs. Hell no.
  
  Ken Ashigbey must be ashamed of his statement. We need a total reset so that Ghanaians will own the extractive industry. It's not necessarily government taking over but local companies. This is what will truly develop our country. 100% local ownership of the extractive industry must be the way to go, enough of the stupidity.
  
  Mr. President, kindly seize the opportunity as the leader and set the tone for a new direction because, nothing can change if we done change the way we do our things. Most of these guys heading state institutions are so dumb that, they rather follow the warped status quo than cause a change due to their selfish interests.
  
  Mr. President, just as E&P is granted a lease to operate the Damang mines, other local mining company with the required capacity should be positioned to take up the Takwa mines in 2027 and because it's 100% local companies, their outputs sold to GoldBod will be a game changer.

You won’t even live there or school your children there. Yet gold is extracted from there makes people live comfortably, send their wards to first class schools, access to hospitals, roads and many more.

  How do we grow the economy?
  Tarkwa water problems is not due to mines.Mainly due to water works encroached by Galamsey operators Road infrastructure affected by collapse of rail sector .Roads affected by Bauxite and manganese trucks

  A review of the lease agreement for example charging the companies to undertake specific infrastructure in the areas of education health roads sports and good economic activities will be better

  It is the same players we are dealing with and it should be win win situation for both nation and investor
  Am not happy with current situation and am convinced the nation can and should get more from the mining industry but not in favour of wholesale nationalization
  Also am not in favour of all money going into the consolidated fund to be mismanaged
  However for example complete health facilities with Morten equipments, constructing first class roads, educational facilities , sports and social facilities, providing alternative livelihoods facilities like oil palm plantain and processing facilities etc charging the companies to supervise those facilities

Asante Gold in Bibiani is now Ghanaian owned and fund out their operation capabilities and finances. Heath Goldfieods now owned by Keabena Duffour has its own challenges. I know Ibrahim Mahama who has rushed to own Damang Mine will also have it's challenges very soon. If you are not in the industry you talk cheaply. Ghana needs to partner the International mining companies to strengthening policies and enforcing regulations. We can't do away with our foreign partners. Listen to those who have the experience and knowledge about mining and stop making belly full uttrances

IEA said the government should not extend the lease of Goldfields at Tarkwa and give the lease to a Ghanaian company who is capable of doing the job. What is wrong with that suggestion. How much billions of dollars has Goldfields been making for the last 35yrs they have been mining at Tarkwa, and the boss even not stepping foot in Ghana. It is obvious Goldfields has bribed this idiot to be talking on behalf of the State entity.
