The IEA doesn't seem to know how Goldfields Ghana came to Tarkwa. The AMALGAMATED BANKET AREAS (ABA) mine which was part of the State Gold Mining Corporation (SGMC) conglomerates collapsed and the underground mine then was FLOODING to the extent that the underground water was flooding parts of nearby Aboso. Then Goldfields came to rescue the mine. We in Tarkwa are delighted to have GOLDFIELDS. THE GOVERNMENT MUST RENEW THE LEASE WHEN IT EXPIRES IN 2027. TARKWA DESERVES BETTER!!!!.

When Tarkwa reverts back to a Ghanaian or Ghana, we can hire the best engineers, scientists and managers and pay them well. Kutu acheampong never borrowed a pesewa from outside because Ghana Government had close to 50% share in the mines. It is time for us to believe that "We CAN" deliver.

An example the huge Bauxite deposits with a modern railway to feed Valco.
Aluminium prices at an all time high.
Encourage foreign firms to engage in huge solar projects to improve energy security.

Then what happened to taxes and royalities the mining companies pay to the government.This is the question many fail to answer.Many forget that these companies goes for huge loans that needs to be settled and also have to pay dividends to shareholders

Rubbish argument, it doesn't stop you from taking back what belongs to you, the option to not renew the lease is the best option, I bet if the government was to cancel the lease now, they, Tarkwa Goldfields Limited would take Ghana government to court in London for payment of over 2 billion US Dollars, with no mercy. Think about the bigger picture and stop talking nonsense to yourself, think big, belief in yourself that the era of change is now, our bunch of useless, corrupt and country wreckers leaders over the past 50 years are dead, gone, the new ones are facing opposition, they cannot intentionally rundown state companies again, which is the main point of your concern. No matter what, we need to learn how to work and feed ourselves, it is the right thing to do, the sensible thing to do, no more easy money, loans and taxes from investors, given away everything important, our minerals for basically free, around 15 percent, that is silly. Stop fooling around, confusing the citizens of Ghana, we will not negotiate, renew or extend any contract with any investor again in Ghana, it is the right thing to do, period.

Tyre and glass factory generated jobs around area
