So CUTS I have a proposition, why don't you test your hypothesis by suing DVLA for these late charges. If you win then most of us will have a case going back years, I personally had to pay a fine when last I renewed licence. ...

So CUTS I have a proposition, why don't you test your hypothesis by suing DVLA for these late charges. If you win then most of us will have a case going back years, I personally had to pay a fine when last I renewed licence. I was told there were no mitigating circumstances as why it was over due. The fact that some may live outside and on return fall foul of these fines seem very unfair so why don't you test the law on behalf of the citizenry...

Very good initiative by CUTS. Our society is too chaotic and lawless. DVLA can not just decide to charge motorists without any legal backing. They should operate under a legal framework.

The fees will deter drivers from thinking they can avoid renewal fees or save money by renewing late. A driver must always carry a valid unexpired license. Good job DVLA.

From the explanation we heard him give on Joy news , then there's going to be a lot of problems. There is a lot of questions he needs to answer before introducing the new number plates. How can keep a number plate after selling your car and a new number plate issued to that car on the same chassis number. An go back and use the old plate another car you intend to buy ?
