A 40-minute flight *Accra-Kumasi* now costs *GH¢800 one-way on AWA, GH¢900 on Passion Air, and GH¢4,000 to GH¢5,000 return.* In 2024, the same return ticket was *GH¢1,600 to GH¢2,000.*
How can the same distance cost less in other African countries?
- *Nigeria Lagos-Abuja* (1hr20, 3x our distance): N70,000-N95,000 early booking (∼$50)
- *Kenya Nairobi-Mombasa* (1hr10, 2x our distance): $88 one-way, $175 return

The old charges are still expensive anyway but telcos were price gouging data bundles with the new charges.

Please note that Gacl has increased taxes from ghc5 to ghc100 one way. So in and out is ghc 200.
