  Its about time that Ghana should be the hub of West Africa airlines and therefore Kotoka International Airport should be expanded and made state of the art airport to accomodate all these major airlines and the inception of new ones.Priority should also be given to Kumasi,Sunyani,Tamale and Takoradi.

  THOSE IN AUTHORITY MUST BE THINKING ON HAVING AN AIRLINE COMPANY WITH FLEET OF AIRCRAFT TO COMPETE WITH THE AIRLINES CURRENTLY OPERATING IN THE COUNTRY.

  Kumasi airport should be expanded to accommodate bigger aircrafts. there is no space in Accra for any major expansion. therefore K'si airport should be giving the priority. At least people can travel to any part of the countr ...

  Kumasi airport should be expanded to accommodate bigger aircrafts. there is no space in Accra for any major expansion. therefore K'si airport should be giving the priority. At least people can travel to any part of the country with minimum difficulty. Accra is already congested.

  I am a pilot flying for a domestic airliner here in Ghana and we fly into kumasi,Tamale,Sunyani,Takoradi everyday.All airline pilots fly fly into these airfield without getting the weather report.The only thing we get is temperature,pressure obtained by the air traffic controller.These airports have been without a met forecaster for almost 2 years.How can you say ghana is the gateway to Africa.If u go to the kookaburra airport briefing room the computer used to obtain weather satellite images is been broken for over a year,yet we say we have a director general of GCAA.Can someone pls tell the president that Ghana's airspace is not safe.We need to have Met forecasters in all airports and also Kumasi ATC frequency interferes with Abidjan since both are the same channel.This has been there since 10 years ago and gets worse during the ham athan season.Imagine Abidjan clears and aircraft to land and another pilot on approach in Kumasi hears that he might think Kumasi has cleared him to land.Very dangerous.I wish I could meet the president to tell him more.Ghana's airspace is dangerous and pls we need urgent action.I am due for retirement soon and would not want an incident to occur.I want the FAA and ICAO to carry out an audit on these issues and they will know that what am saying is nothing but the truth.The DG of GCAA must go.

  This is true,every pilot and air traffic controller know this but everyone is tight lip for fear of been a target.The director general Air commodore Mamphey wants an incident to occur before action is implemented.I work for ATC and yes it is true pilots don't get weather for these airports except Kotoka.They just takeoff without knowing what is ahead.This man is right.
