  Do we need a foreign consultant in this country before our policy makers realise that the high taxes imposed on basic items that enter the country are the cause of the slow pace of growth and development that characterises this country?
  
  Do we need these same consultants before we realise that high taxes automatically imply high prices of commodities?
  
  Ghana will move better and eradicate a lot of corruption from our tax collectors (especially at the entry points) if we scaled down our taxes on some commodities and items such as vehicles, construction and packaging related raw materials, etc.
  
  Is any policy-maker taking notes?
