I can't believe this.We have no water,electricity,fuel,gas and many other basic things.Our road are bad and our hospitals are like grave yards.Government can't mobilise resources to revamp STC and TOR and yet the President is thinking about a new airline.Many large and world class airlines have collapsed and some have merged just to stay afloat.I think some people are pushing the President into this venture only for their self interest.We should watch it.

We are all lamenting the exodus of our youth to Libya through dangerous routes and subsequent deportations by Benin Republic .Don't you think that if the current government could stop the payments of various judgement debts created by NPP and being paid by NDC and harness our financial resources into the projects he has earmarked ,it would create jobs.The projects will not create jobs for only the educated but jobs for all. Both skilled and unskilled. Remember that in the post independence era the factories, schools ,National Airlines , National Shipping lines , National Construction corporations etc were all working well and providing good paying jobs for our parents until the Western world stepped in and corrupted our leaders who lacked patriotism and forsight to turn everything upside down .President Mahama's idea is a noble idea if the Governmet will instill discipline in our leaders at various level of the adminstrative pyramid and ensure proper and effective supervision. Governments fail when there is no patriotism,discipline ,Proper supervision and honesty. Our only true country is Ghana.Let's give our best to Ghana like Dr Kwame Nkrumah did

Some Pilots choose to be late between 2-3 hrs from Accra and,if its an afternoon flight to Accra , while passengers had checkedin the plane will land only to annouce that Ghana airways should report the next day at 6am

Running airline is a risky business. Many better managed carriers are finding it very tough these days., that is why more airline mergers are sprunning up.
It is not a shame for the country not having National carrier. Don' waste our money please.

Normally the Leviathan (the government) sells legislative favours to anyone willing to pay the price

However in some instances there are no takers at the regulatory auction so Leviatan himself shifts his position from broker to that of a player and descends into the market, creats rents and then he himself enjoys the rents so created

Mc Chesney calls this rent creation and htis is what is going on here
