  Do not fall into this trap. The whole world is reeling under the falsehood that local industry is suffering due to competition from international manufacturers. You must add value where you excel and buy all your other requirements from international market for cheap supplies. Reduce cost of everything that you can buy. Let local labour produce local food and the articles that can be produced cheaply. Add value in food products. And do not produce textiles locally - it will be costly like hell and losses will mount. Madam Edwina Assan has good insight of this problem. She can be a good guide to help the decision makers. I am a textile technologist.
