  Kaizen was introduced by Japanese, but it is not working the way we thought. It was also introduced in Global Garden Product (GGP), an Italian firm which produce lawn mowers and tractors. In the beginning, we thought it was going to improve the production, rather the company lost about one million euros as a result of Kaizen. Ghanaian manufactures should study the system very well since it has more disadvantages than advantages. I have been working for the GGP since 1992. I am a Ghanaian living in Italy.

  I commend the AGI for collaborating with the Kaizen Institute. I have studied and have practical knowledge of Lean Practices and I know how the introduction of Lean in any business set up can motivate staff, focus on the customer and bring about continuous improvement. This is something that we need in Ghana to help us to bring about the improvements and discipline that we urgently need in our industries, public sector organisations and the civil service.
