This has been long overdue in placing an embago on cotton(fabrics) importation to the Ghanaian market.HOW MANY ROLLS DO WE SELL OURS IN CHINA for example?We rather have to develop it to international standards so apparel production could be enhanced in every sector around cotton.That would also promote it's growth and attract business from all over the world.If GHANA could step up in its production and processing to international standards,we could be buying the raw materials from other WEST AFRICAN NATIONS as well.THAT HAS TO BE OUR ULTIMATE FOCUS/TARGET.The CHINESE were wearing ONLY ONE UNIFORM:THE INDIAN/PAKISTANESE were wearing SMOCK.We knew FASHION LONG BEFORE THESE TRREE NATIONS but we buy cotton clothing from them always.WHAT role do we play here?I would say "NAIVE".We can do better than what we have so far done,with our cheap labour and dynamic work force.THE EARLIER THE BETTER.
