  When did these mining companies start operating in Ghana? What were then the taxes been paid till recent increases? Have you correctly compared the various operations in Africa and other mining sectors around the world the real taxes being paid? If you have not , surely it does not make sense of your suggestions to the Government.
  
  These mining companies for so long has been paying very little tax in Ghana, without any care to their environmental operations in Ghana. I reckon some of these companies have operated in Ghana for more than 30 years. Find out what have they contributed into the community they so hugely generated Operational profit from. talking not less of Net Profit.
  
  For the past 10 to 15 years, there has being something called Community Social Responsibility (CSR). How many of these companies operating currently in Ghana has ever undertaken such projects within the communities they operate? Thus, if for a long time since the then Gold Coast, nothing positively has being done or put into place for community cohesion, then, right they are responsible for whatever tax they have asked to pay now. For far too long the foreign companies has gotten away with murder and it is about time they pay something while into the society.

  Koney wants taxes reduced so he can get more money for his slave masters. Tell your company to go to Burkina Faso and engage in mining over there.
