  Foolish Anane-Agyei, where do we have the most resources in the Brong-Ahafo?
  You believe all infracstructure should go into the Brong areas. How about the more productive Ahafo and the Twumuru areas around Kwame Danso. The most productive part of this Region is the Ahafo which has most of the Gold, Timber, and all what you mentioned with the exception of tomatoes and yam, so why did you exclude them? Yes, we know the answer. No wonder Ghana is not moving forward. With the likes of you and Afari Gyan, Ghana will always move backward. What a shame !!!

  The percentage of waste from post harvesting is more than what we actually bring to the market.
  Our leader's priority are to "suck" the national coffers all the time. It is about time we tell our leaders what is needed. We can only do these through the media and writing to the MPS. Over to you Joe Lartey.

  OSEI Tawiah, you Ahafos are known for idleness, jealousy, vain words, ... etc. Why should development come to AHAFO? How can you live in Kumasi and expect your area to progress or develop? The Brongs left Kumasi and went back to their Bronglands to develop, that's why those areas are seeing fast progress. Do you know how many years Obuasi gold has served GHANA? ...and how much development is there in Obuasi, until recent? Business and willingness of the people to work, is what leads to the economic progress of an area. Kumasi has no gold, business and Kumasi has prospered. Tell the rest of AHAFOs to leave Kumasi and go build AHAFO.

  To Osei Tawiah, Mr. Anane Agyei is talking about districts here. Tano north, Tano south, Asunafo north are all in the Ahafo part of the Brong and Ahafo region. I'm not sure about Twumuru and kwame Danso area, but isn't kwame ...

All the regions of Ghana suffer same, but probably to varying extents. The real issue is the way we are managing our nation. In-equity and greediness continues to lead our thinking and resolve. It is sad but goes without saying that any nation that fails to plan will consciously or unconsciously plan to fail. Total development of Ghana is what we should all be advocating and not selfishly skewed interventions. Why can't we see through the visionary eyes of our first president in developmental approach? Total national development based on regional competitive advantage and national focus. God help our homeland Ghana.

  the meat should be cut and frozen solid and veggies and fruits canned or frozen also..There need to be more stuff canned.. In usa it can sit on your or stores shelf for 6 months or longer..so no loss on way to market.

  The Ahafo part of BA has always fed the nation and produced timber for export. Desmond of MIM Timbers, Gristen of Abuom, etc, were timber contructors in the area far back as the 60s. Apantu and cocoa yam (mankani) 'a ye de to chalk'' are all from Ahafo, but take a trip to the Asunfo north and Asunafo South Districts, Goaso, & Kukuom, and you'll realise that those areas are the most deprived districts in the country. Governments, past and present, have made empty promises to develop the area, but we can't boast of any good infrastructure. As a native of Kukuom, I was excited when President Kufuor announced sometime in 2006 ? that his government was going to select some deprived SSS and made them model schools, Kukuom Agric Sec. School (KASEC) was one of the school selected. But during my last visit to Ghana last July, I visited the school and I was shocked to find the deplorable state of the school. I don't blame the government; I direct my anger to the former BA deputy regional minister, now Ashanti Regional minister, the notorious Eric Poku, a native of Sankore for condoning with our daft DCE to divert development projects meant for Kukuom (The district capital) to Sankore. I think the time has come for the Ahafos, those within and without, to take our destiny into our own hands and strategise to invite investors to the area, so as to create jobs for the teeming youth who are roaming about the streets.
  Through this forum, I'm urging all Ahafos resident outside to think of how we can lift our area out of poverty and underdevelopment. Let's not rely on the government, it can't help us!

  You are REALY short sighted Akwasi, development is moved more by commerce, and not the amount of raw materials the area produces, or else, Obuasi will be the most developed in GHANA. You AHAFOs have a problem, and that is jealousy and murmuring. While the Brongs have concentrated to building their region, you AHAFOs sit Back lazily and look at Kumasi. The Brongs, have to let go their story-blocks in Kumasi to return to Techiman, SUNYANI, Dormaa, Wenchi, to start afresh, while you lazy Ahafo look to Kumasi. Timber and co doesn't develop but knowhow, and the Brongs know how to do it. Learn from them.

  NO DOUBT, THE GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION OF THE BRONG AHAFO IS SECOND TO NON. THE POSITION OF THE REGION IS MORE THAN GOLD, DIAMOND, OR OIL. IT'S REALY SAD THAT OUR POLITICIANS, LACK THE VISION TO RECOGNISE THE ECONOMIC POTENTIAL OF THE BRONG AHAFO REGION. THE REGION CONNECTS THE NORTH TO THE SOUTH,....HAS MUCH WATER RESOURCES, GOOD SCHOOLS,..ETC. ITS THE ONLY REGION IN GHANA WITH 6 BOARDERS, HAS A COMMERCIAL CITY-TECHIMAN-AND AN ADMINISTRATIVE CAPITAL SUNYANI.
  ADDITION TO FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES, THE REGION CAN ALSO HOST A CARGO AIRPORT AT TECHIMAN, TO AIR LIFT FRESH FOOD TO ACCRA.
  THE REGION HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL.
  THE AHAFOS, SHOULD ALSO GET SETTLED LIKE THE BRONGS AND FOCUS TO BUILD THE REGION, THAN LOOKING BACKWARD TO KUMASI, WHICH CAN'T HELP THEM IN ANYWAY.
  ANOTHER POSSIBILITY IS EXPANDING AND MODERNISING THE YEGI INLAND HABOUR.
  MODERNISING TECHIMAN INTO A REAL COMMERCIAL CITY WILL PREVENT PREVENT THE YOUTH MIGRATING FROM NORTHERN GHANA TO ACCRA AND KUMASI. AT LEAST IN TECHIMAN, THEY WOULD BE MUCH MORE NEAR HOME.

  All the food processing industries mentioned, will benefit the whole of the BRONG AHAFO region, and not only the BRONG part of the region. The AHAFOs are quick to make an issue, that their area is rejected, and that, only the BRONG areas are developing. No doubt, the Brongs have gotten settled to develop their region, while the AHAFOs still look back to Kumasi. The ASANTEs see the Ahafos as second rate Asantes. Why all the reasons the AHAFOs still look to Kumasi and are always murmuring. Asantehene can't help you, better get settled.
  Within 50 years, since the Brongs separated from ASANTE, Techiman has become the biggest commodity market in W. Africa. And Techiman will compete Kumasi in the next 100years, because of its geographical position,- directly in the middle of GHANA- just like Bonomanso which was destroyed by the Asantes about 300years ago.
  I love to advice the AHAFOs, to look forward and develop their region because Kumasi has reach a point of saturation, it's time for Techiman to catch up.
